Glendale Heritage - Hand made tea

According to Chinese mythology, in 2737 BC the Chinese Emperor, Shen Nung, scholar and herbalist, was sitting beneath a tree while his servant was boiling water for drinking. Leaves from the tree dropped into the water and Shen Nung decided to try the brew. The tree from which the leaves dropped was a wild tea tree.

This leaf was squeezed by hand to bring out the concentrated juice and dried under the sun.
In the present day manufacture, the tea leaves are squeezed in a rolling machines and the leaves are twisted mechanically. The juice on contact with oxygen in the air undergoes a process of "Oxidation" and the color of the leaves change from green to brown. Once it reaches a sufficient brown color with a good aroma the tea leaves are dried to retain its quality.

Glendale Heritage means a tea made in the traditional way.
Glendale Heritage is made out of very tender leaves of a particular clone variety and a very small quantity of  withered leaf is rolled between the palm and nimble fingers of women workers who roll it gently to make it into a ball. The rolling process involves rolling the leaves clockwise for some time and then anti-clockwise for giving a gentle pressure to the leaves. After oxidation for a specified time the leaves are dried in a conventional tea drier and packed without grading or further handling.

The tea liquor is very light, yellowish in color and the consumer will enjoy the mild aroma of the high grown Glendale tea.
